THE MCIRR FEE BANK IS CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
What is the MCIRR Fee Bank?
The MCIRR Fee Bank is a fund set up to make 0% interest loans to persons in need, in order to assist them with acquiring immigration status or documentation they would not otherwise be able to afford. The program first was started from a small amount of seed money gifted by the Grand Rapids Dominican Sisters, and in the past few years has grown significantly with special support from the Ann Arbor Reconstructionist Congregation and Temple Beth Emeth. Who can apply? Potential borrowers must be receiving legal representation by an MCIRR member organization. The representative organization is the Applicant, and their client is the Borrower. What costs can be covered? U.S.C.I.S. filing fees and biometrics fees may be covered. Attorneys and preparers fees are not covered. What applications can be covered? Any filing which would assist a person in maintaining, improving, or evidencing their immigration status may be covered. This may include: DACA, TPS, adjustment of status, naturalization, certificates of citizenship, employment authorization cards, U visas, and others. Non-eligible filings would include family petitions or immigrant visa fees, affidavit of support fees, and U.S.C.I.S. Immigrant Fees for persons not in the U.S. |
